Luxembourg wage indexation calculator

Every index tranche raises all salaries by 2.5%, by law, automatically. See what the next tranche adds to your pay, gross and net, and what a salary agreed years ago is worth under today's index.

After the next tranche (+2.5%)

In your pocket · tax class 1

Net today3,676.50

Net after the tranche3,737.96

Net gain+€61.46 / month

Computed with the same payslip-exact engine as our salary calculator: the extra gross is taxed at your marginal rate, so the net gain is smaller than the gross one. Withholding and tax-credit changes are included.

Tranches are not scheduled: the next one falls when the consumer price index moves 2.5% over the previous semester. STATEC's inflation reports forecast the timing.

A salary agreed under an older index

5,253.12 today

+5.06% since then · legal index-100 base: €529.42

Useful for older contracts and collective agreements: if the salary was correct under that index, this is what it must be today after all tranches in between.

Common questions

When is the next wage indexation in Luxembourg?

Index tranches are not scheduled in advance: a new tranche of +2.5% falls when the consumer price index moves 2.5% over the previous semester. STATEC's inflation reports forecast the likely timing; the last tranche applied from 1 June 2026 (index 992.24).

How much does an index tranche add to my salary?

Every tranche raises all salaries, wages and pensions by exactly 2.5% by law. On a €5,000 gross monthly salary that is €125 more per month and €1,500 more per year, automatically, with no contract change. The net gain in your pocket is smaller, because the extra gross is taxed at your marginal rate; this calculator shows both.

What is my contract salary worth today?

Luxembourg salaries are legally expressed at index 100 and multiplied by the applicable cote. A salary agreed under an older index converts to today's value by the ratio of the two cotes. That is exactly what this calculator does, using the official CCSS index table.
