Fit 4 Digital or SME Packages — Digital?
These are two separate schemes and people routinely mix them up. If you are searching for "Fit 4 Digital Packages", the one you want is now published as SME Packages — Digital, by guichet.lu and by the Chamber of Commerce. Fit 4 Digital, the programme on this page, is the assessment that comes before it.
Fit 4 Digital buys you the diagnosis. A consultant reviews your IT infrastructure, cybersecurity and software, then hands over an assessment report and an action plan with costed recommendations. The assessment is fixed at €5,000 and covered in full by a grant of the same amount, so it costs you nothing. Luxinnovation runs it, with the Ministry of the Economy behind it.
SME Packages — Digital pays for the work itself: up to 70% of a project costing €3,000–25,000 excluding VAT, covering digital marketing, a management system such as an ERP or industry software, and electronic invoicing. It is reimbursed after you have paid your provider, not before.
Run in that order they compound: the assessment tells you what to fix and what it costs, the package funds most of the fixing. Nothing forces you to implement the action plan, though — the assessment stands on its own.
Two rules decide whether either one works out. Fit 4 Digital has to be applied for through Luxinnovation's platform before you accept a binding quote from a consultant. SME Packages — Digital starts with a pre-analysis appointment at the House of Entrepreneurship, or at eHandwierk if you are a craft business, and your adviser there completes the aid application with you. Approach either one in the wrong order and the money is gone.
