eCDF filing platform
Nearly every recurring filing a Luxembourg company makes passes through one platform: eCDF, the State's collection point for financial data. What it is, what must go through it, and the deadlines attached.

The platform
What eCDF is

How filings are transmitted
filings reach eCDF either as XML files generated by accounting software against the CTIE's predefined structure, or typed and validated in the on-screen forms

Where annual-accounts data goes
annual accounts validated in eCDF serve the official RCS filing and are available to STATEC for statistics and to the AED and ACD for cross-checking annual VAT and tax returns

In plain terms: your accounting software talks XML to eCDF, and the same validated data then serves the RCS accounts filing and the tax administrations' cross-checks. Access needs a professional certificate and an approved eCDF access request — which is why most founders only ever see the platform through their accountant.
eCDF and MyGuichet are not the same thing
The two government platforms confuse almost everyone at the start. eCDF is where the returns themselves are filed — VAT returns, annual accounts, the standard chart of accounts. MyGuichet.lu is the general administrative counter; for VAT it hosts eTVA-C, which shows the state of your VAT account but does not replace the eCDF return.

Common questions
What is eCDF in Luxembourg?
eCDF is the State's electronic platform for collecting financial data, run by the CTIE. Companies prepare, validate and transmit periodic and annual declarations, annual accounts and the standard chart of accounts through it.
Do I file my VAT return on eCDF or on MyGuichet.lu?
The return itself goes through eCDF — electronic filing has been mandatory for every VAT return since 1 January 2020. MyGuichet.lu's eTVA-C application shows the state of your VAT account; it does not replace the eCDF filing.
